Ability to use chemicals added to a category in a subcategory without adding the chemicals to each subcategory

In our company, we are two departments sharing chemicals, therefor it is all added to one folder. However, when I want to make a risk assessment, i want to divide them between research and QC, this id not possible if i do no at all the chemicals to each subcategory.
