In the lab I create my own solution from NaOH pellets and water. I create my own SDS for that solution.
First I get the SDS for the NaOH pellets to Chemical Manager, as I use CM for creating Workplace Descriptions for chemical solutions.
When I then create the SDS for my solution I firt have to create NaOH Pellets as a component in Local Publisher. Meaning I have to type the information from the suppliers SDS into Local Publisher.
When that is done, I can import the component into the SDS I am creating for my solution. After that I can then connect my SDS to a location in Chemical Manager.
It would be smarter if I was able to import componets straight from the suppliers SDS, to avoid double working... Or that the module Local Publisher ws transferred to Chemical Manager.
The idea behind the substance library is that you only have to create each substance once, and can thereafter import it to as many SDS as you want. Great if you use the same substances in several mixtures, but might feel like double work if you only use each substance once.
