I would like to suggest an improvement to the Chemical Approval module.
Currently, users can only view Chemical Approval Requests for locations where they are members of the relevant board group. However, there are cases where a person needs oversight of all submitted requests across multiple locations without participating directly in the approval process.
For example, in my role, it is important to monitor:
the number of requests being submitted,
their status and progress through the approval workflow,
whether requests are being reviewed and actioned in a timely manner,
overall compliance with the chemical approval process across locations.
At the moment, the only way to gain visibility is to join the board groups, which also results in receiving email notifications for every new request. This is not ideal for users whose responsibility is oversight and reporting rather than operational approval.
I would therefore like to request one of the following enhancements:
A global visibility role that allows users to view all Chemical Approval Requests across locations without being members of each board group.
Alternatively, the ability to join board groups while disabling email notifications.
This functionality would support governance, monitoring, and process management activities while ensuring that approval responsibilities remain with the appropriate local approvers.
