Make CAS Numbers Searchable for Product Ingredients in section 3 – Not Only Those Listed in Section 1

Currently, Chemical Manager only imports CAS numbers that appear in Section 1 of the SDS. When a CAS number is listed solely in Section 3, it is not linked to the product in the database. As a result, these products cannot be located through CAS number search.

For companies managing large volumes of chemicals, CAS numbers are the most consistent and reliable identifier. Chemical names can vary in spelling, language, formatting, and manufacturer terminology—making CAS-based search essential for precise identification.

Since EcoOnline already offers “CAS number” as a search option, users naturally expect all products to be searchable by their associated CAS numbers, regardless of which SDS section they are listed in.

Request:

Please enable Chemical Manager to import and index CAS numbers from all relevant SDS sections (including Section 3) so that every product can be found using its CAS number.

Benefits:

Improved search accuracy and efficiency: All products become fully searchable by CAS number, enabling faster and more reliable identification for users handling large chemical inventories.

Fewer unnecessary product creation requests: Users will be able to find products that already exist in the system but are currently hidden due to missing CAS number indexing, reducing workload for both customers and EcoOnline support.

Enhanced data consistency across the platform: Ensuring CAS numbers are imported from all relevant SDS sections improves overall data quality and strengthens the reliability of Chemical Manager for all customers.
