When working in complex location hierachies it would be very handy if children could inherit location info from their parents automatically, unless one chooses to overwrite it. You could, for instance, have the fields being grayed out to show that the info is inherited, and then regular white fields where info is altered.

Yes, locations can be copied as covered by ticket ARCH-I-175, and that works well when setting up new locations, but that doesn't help if you need to make changes in an existing structure. E.g., if you have a location structure set up as a building with various labs as sub-locations and change the contact person for the building, this should trickle down to all the labs.
